The Minister

Emergency Services Minister Neil RobertsNeil Roberts is the Minister for Emergency Services.

He was elected to State Parliament in 1995 as the Member for Nudgee and became a Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Education in 2001. Most recently, he was Parliamentary Secretary to the Deputy Premier, Treasurer and Minister for Infrastructure.

Prior to entering Parliament, Neil was an electrical fitter and mechanic, a race horse trainer, and an industrial advocate. He also holds a Bachelor of Business, a Graduate Certificate of Business Administration, and a Diploma from the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is currently enrolled in a MBA, which is substantially completed.

He supports a number of local sports and community organisations and is a member of the Electrical Trades Union, the Industrial Relations Society of Queensland, the Banyo Bowls Club, the Geebung-Zillmere RSL and Services Memorial Club, and Queensland Shelter Inc.

Neil is married to Jenny and they have two daughters. Neil’s interests include spending time with his family, reading, current affairs, industrial relations, community development.
