Minister for Police and Community Safety
Jack Dempsey MP is the State Member for Bundaberg. He was sworn in as the Minister for Police and Community Safety on 23 April 2012.
The father of five was an officer in the Queensland Police Service for 19 years prior to being elected at the 2006 State Election while representing the National Party.
Following his re-election in March 2009 as a Liberal National Party representative, Mr Dempsey served in a range of shadow ministries including Child Safety, Environment, Sport and Recreation, Mining and Resource Management.
He has also served as the Deputy Chair of the Parliamentary Crime and Misconduct Committee.
