EMQ Helicopter Rescue is part of the Queensland Department of Community Safety, Emergency Management Queensland division. The helicopter rescue service is dedicated to safeguarding the welfare of Queenslanders, their property and visitors to the State, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In times of disaster or emergency, EMQ Helicopter Rescue has the most capable multi-role rescue and auxiliary helicopters in Australia available at a moment's notice.
EMQ Helicopter Rescue operates from three bases on the Queensland coast in Brisbane, Townsville and Cairns. With experienced and highly skilled pilots and crews, EMQ Helicopter Rescue is capable of a range of rescue and recovery operations such as:
