When Queensland Rescue purchased three Bell 412s they were freighted to Australia from the United States as standard helicopters. On arrival, Queensland Rescue had each helicopter stripped to the frame and rebuilt from the ground up to suit their role as a rescue aircraft operational for Queensland conditions. Added to the helicopter are all rescue equipment including winches, search lights (Nite Sun), medical equipment and cargo hooks. Below are a few photographs of the Townsville Bell 412's fit out.

The Bells are stripped down and rebuilt to suit Queensland Rescue's needs, which usually takes about 2 ½ months.
