What is Youth Development?

Youth development is about providing all young people with positive experiences and opportunities that enhance their strengths and capacity, and affirm them as contributors to their communities and shapers of their own future. Through youth development, communities are able to recognise, value, support and encourage the contribution of young people.

Youth development in the Emergency Services Cadet Program aims to focus on the whole person while providing a positive developmental experience which creates opportunities for learning and skill development while valuing young peoples contribution and recognizing the involvement of the community.
