Sarina

Sarina Cadets are sponsored by Sarina SES and are in the Sarina Shire. There are 18 cadets, 11 male and 7 female, and 7 adult members in this cadet group.

This is a community focused, active, and well managed group. The group recently teamed up with the Sarina Youth Council to produce a coloured brochure named YPISS (Young People Informed on Sarina Services).

The book contains a wealth of information on services and useful contacts in Sarina. The group meets every alternate Wednesday evening and also interacts with other youth groups in the community on a regular basis. The Sarina Cadets recently went on a weekend to Action Challenge Mackay where the cadets developed their personal & leadership skills.

Sarina is a progressive Cadet unit who has a strong relation with the Sarina youth council. The Cadets in conjunction with the youth council recently produced a colourful booklet providing useful information to the young people of Sarina such as Government/ Community agencies, employment & training and a viriety of clubs establish to assist the local youth. The booklet is named Young people informed on Sarina services but is more commonly known by its initials YPISS. The cadets regularly assist the community on ANZAC day and show day.
