Horn Island

Horn Island is situated in the Torres Straits at the northern part of Far North Queensland. Horn Island Cadets are the newest addition to Far North Queensland’s Emergency Services Cadet program. Having started in 2003, Horn Island Group currently has 12 Cadets and 7 Adult Leaders. The team of Adult Leaders place a great amount of emphasis on Cadet training and have developed some innovative support structures for their Cadet training program.

In May 2004, Horn Island Cadets attended the Far Northern District combined Cadet camp. The commitment of all Cadets and Leaders was displayed. This group had to travel two days and be away from home an extra two nights just to attend.

Horn Island Emergency Services Cadets train weekly on Thursday nights 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
