Fassifern
Fassifern cadet group was officially opened by the Minister in March 2006.
Currently sporting 16 cadets and 13 leaders the future is looking bright with an estimated 10 new recruits starting next year (2007).
Supported by all of the emergency services in the Fassifern Valley has given us a wealth of knowledge and experience to draw on. This is supplemented by support from the local Boonah Shire Council.
Although new, the development of the cadets from raw recruits towards their certificate two in public safety has started in earnest. The cadets enjoy the challenges that are offered and are actively involved in the planning and implementation of their own programs with guidance from a highly supportive leader group.
Participation in community activities such as ANZAC Day and the Chaplaincy run in Boonah complement the cadets normal training program.
The group meets each Wednesday of the school term in Boonah at 1900hrs.
