Goodna

The Goodna cadet group was established in 1998, and whilst numbers have been capped at 40 they take on up to 12 new members each year. Every year the Goodna Cadets hold a minimum of two camps. As well as camps a number of workshops in specialized fields such as leadership, mentoring and casualty simulation are held. The cadets enjoy an active role in the planning of these training activities and have a very active social club committee that meets regulary.

Goodna cadets also perform community service for a number of different charities and organisations. They have fundraised for SIDS Foundation, planted trees for National Tree Day and entered a team into relay for life for the Queensland Cancer Fund. As well they have sponsored two litters of Guide dog puppies and support the local Redbank Plains Lions Club. The group also takes part in a number of local festivals and parades and have been part of the flag ceremony during Anzac Day services. The Goodna Cadets have also been placed first and second in the Youth category in the Jacaranda Festival Parade.
