The Dangerous Goods Unit (DGU) of DOTARS provides policy advice on national and international dangerous goods matters.
- www.nicnas.gov.au Australia's National Industrial Chemicals Notification and Assessment Scheme – NICNAS - in the Office of Chemical Safety, is the regulator for industrial chemicals under the Industrial Chemicals Notification and Assessment Act within the Commonwealth Department of Health and Aging .

The Major Hazards Division of WorkSafe Victoria administers legislation that provides for the control of major hazard facilities (MHFs) including : - Dangerous Goods Act 1995;
- Road Transport Reform (Dangerous Goods) Act 1995; and
- Occupational Health and Safety (Major Hazard Facilities) Regulation 2000.

- The Occupational Health and Safety (Commonwealth Employment) Act 1991 (the OHS (CE) Act), and
- The Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 (the SRC Act).
