2009 Australian Safer Communities Awards

2009 Australian Safer Communities Awards

The Australian Safer Communities Awards, celebrating their 10th anniversary in 2009, are the perfect way to promote and recognise a project that has improved resilience in a community.

The awards, sponsored by Emergency Management Australia, recognise best practice and innovation by organisations and individuals that have developed and successfully implemented an initiative which helps to build safer communities across Australia.

The awards cover all aspects of community safety in the context of emergency management. They are judged on two levels - State and Territory winners are decided and recognised first, and in turn become finalists for the National Awards.

Further information (including the categories, judging criteria and how to enter) can be found in the brochure and entry form.  The brochure and entry form can also be downloaded from the EMA website www.ema.gov.au

All Queensland entries must be submitted to the Queensland Awards Coordinator by 3 July 2009.

(Note:  DES entries must be submitted to divisional coordinators by 12 June 2009.  Refer to the DES Portal or volunteer portals for more detail.)

If you require any further information please contact the Queensland Awards Coordinator, Jo Mitchell on (07) 3109 7232 or by email to jmitchell@emergency.qld.gov.au
