Welcome to the Emergency Management Queensland (EMQ) website.

EMQ is responsible for Queensland's disaster management arrangements, the core staffing of the State Disaster Coordination Centre and State Emergency Service (SES).

EMQ provides chemical hazard advice, emergency helicopter services and supports community helicopter providers.

EMQ also manages Government support to Volunteer Marine Rescue organisations.

Emergency Management Queensland comprises of two branches:

• Community Safety and Sustainability (responsible for the development of strategies for policy);

• Counter Disaster Operations and SES (responsible for the delivery of services statewide)
