Emergency Management Queensland has joined with Australian Red Cross to provide a Queensland version of this booklet.
This resource provides information on the four steps to prepare for emergencies and is tailored to meet the specific needs of people with a disability.

How can you use this resource?
If you have a disability, you can use the step by step approach to assist in:
- Establishing or strengthening your support network
- Being informed of hazards, local support and emergency contacts
- Identifying your specific needs in an emergency and developing your personal emergency plan
- Deciding on appropriate items for your personal emergency kit and evacuation kit.
If you work with, or support, people with a disability, you can use the booklet as a useful reference in supporting clients to develop their own personal emergency planning requirements.
Copies of the booklet will be provided to all local libraries in Queensland to be made available to all Queenslanders.
