EMQ Townsville Helicopter Rescue

Emergency Management Queensland’s Townsville helicopter responded to pickup a crew member onboard the Shin Sanyo Maru ship, bound for Port Kembla.
The patient is suffering from appendicitis and is reported to be in a lot of pain.
The helicopter travelled 170 nautical miles north-east of Hamilton Island; it landed onboard the Japanese bulk coal carrier at 9.38am and departed the ship with the patient onboard at 9.42am.
The helicopter is expected to arrive at Townsville Hospital at 12.20pm.
