Bongaree (Bribie Island) - bushfire

Multiple Queensland Fire and Rescue Service (QFRS) crews will continue to work on scene today at a bushfire burning near the southern tip of Bribie Island, on First Avenue, Bongaree. Firefighters will conduct a large backburn in the area and Bongaree residents will be impacted by smoke throughout the day. The fire is burning safely in inaccessible country within containment lines and is not threatening any homes. Residents with respiratory illnesses are advised to keep windows and doors closed, remain indoors and keep medication close by. Motorists are advised to drive to conditions. This fire broke out yesterday, around midday.
