EMERGENCY ALERT for Laidley

The Department of Community Safety would like to advise:

A flooding EMERGENCY ALERT has been issued for the Laidley area.

The Lockyer Valley Regional Council advises Laidley Creek is expected to peak at 5.30pm with major flooding to 2011 levels in town.

People have been advised to warn others and self evacuate to Laidley High School.

Further advice is available by calling 1300 005 872. Advice is also available from your local radio station or by logging on to www.disaster.qld.gov.au .

Only call Triple Zero if you or your property is in danger or if someone is injured.

The community will be notified when there is no longer a flooding threat.
