Haigslea – car and truck crash
Emergency services crews responded after a car and truck collided on the Warrego Highway at Haigslea. The crash occurred just before midday. A woman, the sole occupant of the car, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the truck was uninjured.

Marmadua (south west of Dalby) – car rollover
A woman and child escaped with minor injuries after their car rolled on the Moonie Highway at Marmadua, south west of Dalby. The crash occurred around 2.15pm. A woman in her 40s was trapped in the vehicle and was freed by fire crews. She suffered a head laceration and was transported to Dalby Hospital. A baby girl also in the car was uninjured.

Hervey Range – grass fire
Six fire crews are on scene at a grass fire on Hervey Range Road at Hervey Range. The fire started around 1.40pm. When crews arrived the fire was burning on both sides of Hervey Range Road. Crews are now establishing fire breaks. No homes are under threat at this time.

Woolooga - bush fire
Nine fire crews are on scene at a large bush fire off the Wide Bay Highway at Woolooga. The fire has been burning since around 7.30pm last night. Firefighters are now backburning around several properties as a precaution. No homes are under immediate threat at this time.

Purga – grass fire
Six fire crews are on scene at a grass fire on Purga School Road at Purga. The fire broke out around 3.20pm. Fire crews are now protecting several structures from the blaze.

Chuwar – bush fire
Five rural fire crews are on scene at a bush fire on Blackwall Road at Chuwar. The fire started around 12.10pm. The fire has been contained on the western side and fire crews are now working on containing the remaining flanks. Firefighters have also been conducting backburning activities. No homes are under threat.

Ogmore (north of Marlborough) – grass fire
Four fire crews are on scene at a grass fire near St Lawrence and Tooloombah Creek roads at Ogmore, north of Marlborough. Emergency services received multiple triple zero (000) calls reporting the fire around midday. An aircraft is being used for reconnaissance activities to assist ground crews. The fire is currently burning within containment lines. No homes have been threatened by the fire.

FIRE BANS
Fire bans will remain in place for the following Local Government areas until midnight on Friday 6 November: North Burnett, Fraser Coast, South Burnett, Gympie, Cherbourg and Bundaberg.

Fire bans will remain in place for the following Local Government areas until midnight on Monday 9 November: Whitsunday, Burdekin, Townsville, Charters Towers, Richmond, Mackay, Isaac, Banana, Gladstone and Rockhampton.

Fire bans in these areas may be extended again if dangerous fire conditions continue.

The Rural Fire Service has put a ban on the lighting of all fires in the above Local Government areas, including permit fires as a precaution with high, and at times extreme, conditions expected to continue.

The following exemptions apply under fire ban conditions:
• The use of gas and electric barbecues are permitted provided they are not left unattended. The use of wood fire barbecues is prohibited;
• Fires for the purpose of disposal of animal carcasses are permitted, subject to the issue of a Permit to Light Fire by the local Fire Warden;
• Fires of commercial necessity are permitted subject to the issue of a Permit to Light Fire by the Area Director Rural Operations;
• Fires for the purpose of burning standing sugar cane for harvest in accordance with the established practice of the industry; and
• Fires for the purpose of burning sugar cane tops and trash on cane production land between the hours of 1800 (6.00 pm) and 0900 (9.00 am).
