Update: Beachmere (north of Brisbane) - bushfire


Multiple Queensland Fire and Rescue Service (QFRS) crews remain on scene at a bushfire in the vicinity of Beachmere Rd, Beachmere (north of Brisbane). Crews were first called to the fire around 2.30pm on Saturday. The fire is burning safely within containment lines. Firefighters are monitoring the fire overnight and are conducting backburning operations and strengthening containment lines. There is no immediate threat to properties in the area but the fire is causing a large smoke haze. Motorists in the area are advised to drive to conditions. Residents are advised to keep their doors and windows closed and if they suffer from respiratory illnesses, keep medication close by. If you feel your home is at threat, dial Triple Zero (000).
