Yatala bushfire


Multiple Queensland Fire and Rescue Service (QFRS) crews are on scene at a large mulch and bushfire burning in the vicinity of Sandy Creek Road, Yatala. The fire, which broke out around 11.30am is burning in mulch at a commercial premises and has spread into local bushland. Firefighters are putting in fire breaks and conducting backburning operations to contain the fire. There is currently no threat to properties. The fire is causing a large volume of smoke in the area and is expected to linger for the next several days. Motorists are urged to drive to the conditions. Residents are advised to close windows and doors and if they suffer from respiratory illness, keep medication close by. If residents feel that their property is at threat they should phone Triple Zero (000) immediately.
