Financial assistance for smoke alarms for deaf and hearing-impaired people.

If you are deaf or hearing impaired you may be eligible to receive funding of up to $400 to help pay for the cost of a special smoke alarm designed for your needs.

There is a limit of one fire alarm subsidy per household and all installation costs must be met by the applicant.

You can choose between a number of types of smoke alarm systems available at several retail outlets.

Applications for rebates must be supported by original proof-of-purchase (please keep a copy of your receipt for your records) and address the eligibility criteria. Payment of successful applications for the rebate are expected to be made within 60 days.

Your letter must state your residential address and provide telephone and other relevant contact details such as email address.
